CD Release Party for Barbara Ireland’s ‘RED’! June 2, 2012 at the Royal Room, Seattle

After 6 months of working on my new album, ‘RED,’ I am finally ready to release these slinky-retro-1960s-pop+jazz tunes! It’s the first time I’ve released my original music – and I’m very excited to share it with you!

Saturday, June 2nd is the release date, and that night I am lucky to be playing with incredible musicians (who also appear on the album): Jeff Fielder (guitar), Mike Stone (drums), Keith Lowe (bass), Galen Green (sax), plus two amazing backup singers Caprina Stone and Karen Shelton, and special guest appearances by Billy Stover (piano and Hammond) and Ben Ireland (conga). There are other surprises that… uh, you will be surprised by. :-) Going to be such a fun evening! And many of the same musicians, plus the inimitable Ron Weinstein on Hammond, will be opening at 8:30 pm with hot, upbeat dance & jazz tunes a’la James Brown!

Saturday, April 28, 2012

The evening is dressed up like a 1920′s speakeasy! Elegant and flirtatious, delicious dinner and live auction. All proceeds from the event go to the Evergreen City Ballet’s dance outreach program, ‘Dance Alive!’ which teaches elementary school kids the basics of dance and the joy of movement – at no cost to the schools. Plus they give $30,000 annually in financial aid. Pretty amazing dance company, eh?

I’ll be singing fantastic old tunes from the ’20s and ’30s (some with very sassy innuendo), and am honored to be performing with  Ryan Burns on piano, Mike Stone on drums, and Nathan Parker on upright bass.

Saturday, April 28th, 2012, at Emerald Downs. Cocktails begin at 6pm. Tickets are $40/person, and the evening is nearly sold out! Click here for more info or to get your tickets.

A new, sexy, bluesy tune to add to your holiday playlist!

MUSIC

This is going to be an AMAZING show!

Star Anna, Kim Virant, Victoria Wimer Contreras, Carla Torgerson and yours truly will sing our luscious hearts out to you… performing all songs by female artists who have inspired us over the years — including some of our own original tunes. Plus there will be a delicious wine tasting by female winemakers, and scrumptious appetizers that will make your taste buds do a jig. All of this under the magical glowing eyes of the Greek god sculptures in the Neptune Theater (recently remodeled, always cool). Last year we performed this show to a sold-out crowd… Don’t miss it! Elegant, fun, tasty, soulful, and sassy! For tickets click here. For more info, click here. Come and give all of your senses a special treat for the night!
